Senior National Account Manager

Greater Manchester

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected  supplier of home and giftware to the retail sector during a period of growth.  Reporting to the Managing Director, your role will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to grow one of our major multi million pound accounts, whilst maintaining and improving profitability and long-term customer relationships to achieve mutual business objectives.  You will have outstanding communication skills, be resilient, passionate, creative and entrepreneurial with the ability to deliver outstanding results.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Align with the customer to understand in depth their requirements;
  • Develop an understanding of their product ranges and the homewares market including benchmarking and competitor analysis;
  • Develop product ranges with buyers, in conjunction with our in-house design team, to secure seasonal selections;
  • Build strong relationships with the customer and manage key stakeholders through regular meetings and effective communication;
  • Negotiate product and pricing details and ensure commercial targets are met;
  • Communicate customer feedback to the team on product design, innovation and costing;
  • Ensure effective communication of all purchasing and logistics requirements to the business;
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure product specifications are met and support internal processes for the launch of new products;
  • Support internal and customer critical paths to achieve ‘on time in full’ deliveries to the customer;
  • Undertake gap analysis and identify opportunities to introduce new products, including promotional opportunities;
  • Ensure account administration is completed accurately and effectively,  supporting the requirements of the customer and internal stakeholders;
  • Lead, develop, motivate and mentor the cross functional internal customer team to achieve and exceed business goals.

Experience/Skills

  • Proven track record of customer management with demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Experience of home furnishings or textile products and the retail industry an advantage
  • Advanced excel skills
