Fabric Merchandiser
Greater Manchester
The primary objective of the role is to ensure availability and continuity of base fabric. The successful candidate will be responsible for suppliers delivering on time to meet business requirements.
Principal responsibilities:
- Update production and stock figures daily on the stock system.
- Ensure stock system is up to date with all new products and materials entered as appropriate
- Create orders for suppliers via internal stock systems and communicate to suppliers in a timely fashion through email and telephone.
- Expedite orders already placed with suppliers as required and proactively communicate internally any potential shortage of material required for forecast production.
- Provide accurate forecasting
- Through effective stock monitoring and management ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained to agreed levels and assess seasonal trends to satisfy production demand
- Report on supplier performance / issues and recommend action
- Liaise with Goods-in department to ensure accurate booking in of Materials.
- Verify all delivery notes and invoices for fabric.
- Produce weekly and monthly management reports / KPI's.
- Arrange all freight and liaise with freight forwarders on deliveries, freight charges and duty.
The Successful Candidate should have….
- A good knowledge of logistics specifically dealing with shipments from around the globe.
- Used to working with Far East and European supply base.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail
- Stock control experience
- Supplier contact
- Excellent Microsoft skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
